Let’s Go Racing at MIS 2010 Season Opener is This Sunday OREGON, WISCONSIN -- The ASA Midwest Tour Super Late Models come to Madison International Speedway in full force this weekend with a large field of the best drivers in the Midwest set to do battle on Wisconsin’s Fastest Half-Mile on Sunday afternoon May 2nd. Highlighting the racing program will be the Joe Shear Classic, a 136 lap feature event for the Super Late Models. The event is named in honor of the late Joe Shear who won 66 features at Madison along with track championships in 1973, 1974, 1980, and 1982. The ASA Midwest Sportsman and ASA Trucks will also be in action on Sunday. Qualifying will start at 1:00 PM with the first race at 3:00 PM. A star-studded field of drivers is expected led by defending champion Nathan Haseleu of Pardeeville, Wisconsin. The driver entry list, which is already over 40, features names such as Steve Carlson, Tim and Travis Sauter, Andrew Morrissey, Tim Schendel, Jeremy Lepak, Chris Wimmer, Bryan Reffner, and Dave Feiler. Making the move from Late Models to Super Late Models in 2010 will be Ross Kenseth who will be competing for rookie of the year in the series. An open practice day is scheduled for Saturday with pit gates opening at 10:00 AM and practice from Noon 5:00 PM. Ticket Prices:$17.00 for ages 12 and up; $5.00 for kids 6-11 years old; Free for kids 5 and under.
